Black-tie Fairbarn Wedding Day / Pinehurst Wedding Day

Some wedding days simply feel effortless, and Phil and Allie's celebration at the Pinehurst Fair Barn was exactly that.

I began the morning with Allie at the Carolina Hotel, where she spent the morning getting ready alongside her mom and sister. There was a sense of calm that surrounded her. No nerves, no stress—just excitement and anticipation for the day ahead. She seemed completely present, ready to soak in every moment.

Once everyone was ready, we made our way to the Fair Barn. As I walked outside to see the ceremony site, Phil happened to be arriving as well. He greeted me with the biggest smile and immediately shared how hard it was to believe the day had finally arrived. Just eight months earlier, we had been wandering around Pinehurst during their engagement session, talking about wedding plans and the excitement of what was to come.

Although those eight months seemed to fly by, spending time with Phil and Allie always feels like catching up with old friends. They are the kind of couple who make everyone around them feel welcome, and that warmth was woven throughout every part of their wedding day.  They are the perfect pair.  Allie, sweet and cheerful, and Phil, possibly the most extraverted groom ever, who can instantly become best friends with anyone.  They certainly complement each other perfectly. 

Their ceremony was one of the sweetest I've had the privilege of photographing. Before the larger celebration began, Phil and Allie exchanged vows surrounded by only their closest family members. It was intimate, heartfelt, and incredibly meaningful. It was actually a first for me to witness a private family ceremony before guests arrived, and I loved how intentional it felt. Every word, every smile, and every tear carried so much significance.

As the evening unfolded, guests began arriving and the Fair Barn quickly transformed into a room filled with laughter, conversation, and celebration. During their engagement session, Phil had warned me that their friends and family knew how to have a good time—and he certainly wasn't exaggerating.  From the first dance to the final song of the night, the energy never slowed down.

I definitely couldn't pick a favorite part of the day.  It was all so wonderful...but hearing the best man's speech gave me a glimpse into their lives together and the impact they have made in each other's lives as well as their family and friends.  I also loved the golf simulator, another first for me at a wedding reception. Guests lined up for their turn, and before long, both Phil and Allie stepped up to take their swings. Watching Allie confidently drive a golf ball while wearing her wedding gown was a moment I'll never forget. She made it look effortless.

As for who outdrove whom? I'll keep that secret.

What I can say is that these two know how to have fun together, and that joy was reflected throughout every moment of their celebration.

Phil and Allie, thank you for allowing me to be part of such a beautiful day. Your wedding was filled with genuine love, incredible family, amazing friends, and countless moments that reminded everyone in attendance what marriage is truly about. It was an honor to celebrate alongside you, and I cannot wait to see where this next chapter takes you.
