Wedding days are my favorite—and this one was extra special.

When Lexi reached out about her wedding, I couldn’t contain my excitement. I first met her at her sister, Tori’s wedding back in the fall of 2018. Lexi was the unforgettable maid of honor who sang her speech (yes, sang it), and had the whole room cheering. So when her name popped up in my inbox, I practically leapt out of my chair.

Lexi and Michael’s proposal story is just wonderful. Over Memorial Day weekend, on the dock at her family’s beach house in Surf City, Michael asked Lexi to be his wife. And just when she thought the moment couldn’t get more perfect, Joelle, his daughter, came running down the dock with a red rose and a full-speed hug.  Then came the final surprise: Lexi’s mom revealed that she and Michael had already booked Pinehurst Resort for 4th of July weekend—Lexi’s dream wedding date. Talk about a full-circle moment.

Their wedding was everything a summer celebration should be: vibrant, heartfelt, and full of magic. The historic charm of Pinehurst set the stage for a weekend of love, laughter, and "fireworks"—between this incredible couple.  I met Lexi at her childhood home on the morning of the wedding and was immediately greeted by Tori—her sister, matron of honor, and also the wedding coordinator. Tori and their mom planned the entire day from start to finish and did an absolutely incredible job. Every detail reflected heart, intention, and a deep love for Lexi and Michael.

Walking into that familiar home felt like stepping back into a memory—but this time, Lexi was the bride. She was getting the finishing touches on her hair, glowing from the inside out. She looked absolutely radiant.

Her Colby John gown hung nearby—elegant and timeless—and right next to it, a sweet little dress for Joelle, the perfect outfit for a little princess. That quiet moment, seeing both dresses side by side, was such a tender glimpse into the bond Lexi and Joelle share. Getting ready that morning was filled with smiles, gentle laughs, and a sense of deep connection between the two. It was truly beautiful to witness.

Meanwhile, Michael was getting ready in classic style—surrounded by his best friends and his father. They met up at the Carolina Hotel for a pre-ceremony drink, sharing laughs before heading to the church. But before seeing Lexi, Michael had one more important stop to make: a first look with his daughter, Joelle. It was a sweet and emotional moment—a father and daughter pausing together just before he married the woman of his dreams.  He shared a ring with three birthstones, one was Joelle's, one Lexi's and one his.

The ceremony was nothing short of amazing. It was filled with tender moments, joyful tears, and the kind of quiet, reverent love that makes you believe in forever. Lexi and Michael shared sweet, personal vows—committing not only to one another, but also to their life as a family with Joelle. It was heartfelt and genuine, a reflection of the kind of love that builds a home.

The reception was quite the celebration—full of laughter, tears, and so much dancing. Lexi and Michael shared their first dance as husband and wife, followed by the sweetest father-daughter dance between Michael and his princess, Joelle. Lexi then joined them for a “Just the Three of Us” dance, celebrating their new life as a family. From there, the dance floor opened—and it didn’t take long for it to flood with guests singing at the top of their lungs, celebrating with wild joy and contagious energy. It was truly an amazing day.

Cheers to Mad Dog Mike, Lexi, and sweet Joelle. Here’s to a life full of joy and passion. The best is yet to come!
