GATES + ERIN | ENGAGEMENT

Sweet & Simple mini engagement session on a family farm / NC Engagement Photographer
Erin and Gates' love story began long before they even knew it. Their connection was written into the fabric of their lives—woven through childhood weekends at Morganton’s soccer fields, siblings playing together in kindergarten, and tennis matches shared by their moms. Their dads even worked together at Moore Regional. Erin always believed there was an invisible string tying them together—and she was right.
They finally met thanks to Alyssa, one of my sweet JB Brides and Erin’s longtime friend. Alyssa brought Erin to one of Gates’ soccer games, and from that day on, something just clicked. They began dating in 2015 and quickly became inseparable—best friends through many of life’s milestones.
Though college took Gates to Ole Miss, distance couldn't keep them apart for long. Erin joined him in Oxford the following year, and after graduation, they started a new chapter together in Texas. While they’ve loved building a life there, their hearts have always stayed close to home. Choosing Pinehurst for their wedding was a natural decision—there’s just something about the charm, history, and beauty of this place that feels like the perfect backdrop for their next chapter.
I met on Erin’s family property for a quick engagement session, and honestly, I could have spent hours with them. Erin and Gates are absolute sweethearts—warm, joyful, and so clearly in love. It was one of those sessions that just flows, where the smiles are effortless and the connection is undeniable. I walked away feeling even more excited for their wedding day, which is now just 95 days away!
Erin and Gates, I can’t wait to celebrate with you soon. Your story is one of those rare, serendipitous kinds of love—and I’m so honored to be part of this chapter.
