KAJUN + JAELYN | ENGAGEMENT

Romantic Engagement Session at The Ivey Hotel, Charlotte, NC / NC Wedding Photographer
From the very first message Jaelyn sent back in June, I knew this couple was going to be something special. Kajun and Jaelyn are planning their Spring 2026 wedding, and not only are they working with one of my all-time favorite planners — the incredibly talented Demi of Demissy Events — but they also know several of my beloved past JB couples. That’s always such a joy!
So when Jaelyn mentioned wanting to travel to Charlotte for an engagement session at The Ivey Hotel, my heart practically skipped a beat. This hotel is such a gem in the heart of the city — full of charm, elegance, and character — and it was the perfect backdrop for the romantic, editorial-style portraits we had envisioned.
We met up on Sunday and spent the afternoon exploring the beautiful interiors of the hotel. From cozy corners with dramatic lighting to the chic modern details, every space offered something unique. Kajun and Jaelyn were such naturals — stylish, joyful, and full of chemistry. They made my job way too easy!
After wrapping up at the hotel, we took a short stroll up the street to a stunning church nearby. Despite the almost 100-degree heat (yes, it felt like 100 degrees!), these two powered through and looked incredible doing it. We managed to sneak in a few quick outdoor portraits in front of the epic wooden doors of church, and the light was absolutely magic.
Spending the afternoon with Kajun and Jaelyn was such a treat. I loved learning more about their story, their vision for the big day, and just soaking in their sweet, easygoing energy. I’m so thrilled they chose me to document their April wedding — it’s going to be amazing, and I already can’t wait!
Stay tuned for more of this beautiful couple in Spring 2026 — I have no doubt their wedding day will be filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments.
