Sweet and Surprising Pinehurst Proposal

     I have to say this is one of the best parts of my job...getting to witness true joy.  Devan was the man with the plan.  He initially reached out in September.  He had a sweet and well-thought-out plan of how he would propose to Anna.  He would take her to the Carolina Hotel to see the lights.  He had it all planned out...then he saw Anna's calendar with an event to see the girls in her youth group as they took pictures in front of the Carolina Hotel before prom...immediately Devan knew he had to adjust or else over a hundred teenagers in formal attire would be a witness to a very special (and hopefully private moment).  So we planned...he would take her to dinner at the Deuce at 3 pm (yes!  An early dinner...LOL!).  Then he would take her out toward the Cradle and he would propose.  We brought a local florist into the equation since he would never be able to hide the ring box without her finding it.  So I hid the ring in a beautiful bouquet (thank you, Jack Hadden) and we sat and waited...yes his family and I waited for them to finish their meal.  Devan and I texted back and forth with updates...and then they walked to the clock and he got down on one knee and asked.  Anna had the BEST reaction!!!  I love her joy as her tears flowed.  She saw her family off to the side...surprise number two.  

     After a few pictures, I asked if she wanted to go see the girls before prom...she immediately said YES!  and we headed to the Carolina Hotel.  It was amazing to see how excited all the young women were.  They screamed and gave big hugs.  Anna must have such an impact because you can see how they loved her.  Of course we had to grab a few shots of Anna and her girls.  Then we headed to the spot Devan initially picked for the proposal to end the session.  Here are a few of my favorites from the day!  Devan and Anna, you two were amazing!  Enjoy the planning and just remember, the best is yet to come!!!
