Some love stories begin with grand gestures, while others begin with perfect timing. For Noah and Katie, it all started on New Year's Eve when a mutual friend introduced them. Six years later, they are preparing to say "I do," and it was such a joy to spend a beautiful Sunday evening capturing this exciting season of their lives.

We began their engagement session strolling through the charming streets of downtown Southern Pines. The historic architecture, cozy storefronts, and timeless character of the town provided the perfect backdrop for these two. Noah and Katie were completely at ease together, sharing laughter, sweet glances, and the kind of effortless connection that only comes from years of building a life side by side.

After exploring downtown, we made our way to the beautiful grounds of the Weymouth Center, where we were joined by a very special guest—Katie's family dog, Otis. Dressed in an adorable blue bowtie, Otis was full of excitement. Not only did he look incredibly handsome, but he as pretty well-behaved (I have to admit he was far more cooperative than my own doodles would have been!) He was the perfect addition to their session and made for some truly memorable photographs.

As we walked through the gardens and shaded paths of the Weymouth Center, we talked about their upcoming October wedding and all the exciting plans they have in store. The anticipation and joy they share for this next chapter was evident in every conversation and every photograph.  Sessions like this are a wonderful reminder that engagement photos are about so much more than beautiful images—they are about preserving a season of anticipation, excitement, and love before the wedding day arrives.

Spending the evening with Noah, Katie, and Otis was such a treat, and I left even more excited for their October celebration. If their wedding day is anything like their engagement session, it is going to be absolutely unforgettable.

I cannot wait to celebrate alongside them and capture the beginning of their next chapter together.
