I love the spring. There’s something about the beginning of a new wedding season that feels full of excitement and fresh beginnings. My first wedding of the year was truly one for the books — Steve and Nicole’s beautiful wedding day at Pinehurst Resort was simply amazing from start to finish.  From a quiet morning getting ready with family to a packed dance floor at the end of the night, their day was full of joy, celebration, and timeless Pinehurst charm.

Getting Ready in Pinehurst

We started the morning at a beautiful Airbnb where Nicole spent the early part of the day getting ready with her family and closest friends. The house was spacious and perfect for a wedding morning, giving everyone room to relax and enjoy the excitement of the day.

One of the best parts was that the house was large enough to keep Nicole and Steve separated throughout the morning, preserving that special moment when they would first see each other at the ceremony.

The morning was filled with laughter, anticipation, and those quiet moments that always make the start of a wedding day so meaningful.

A Sacred Heart Catholic Church Wedding Ceremony

The ceremony took place just minutes away at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, one of the most beautiful and historic churches in the area.

As guests entered the church, the sound of a cello created a stunning and emotional atmosphere. When Nicole walked down the aisle, it was a moment filled with love and anticipation. Surrounded by family and friends, Steve and Nicole exchanged vows in a timeless and heartfelt ceremony.  Catholic wedding ceremonies always carry such a sense of tradition and meaning, and this one was truly beautiful.

Portraits at The Carolina Hotel

After the ceremony, we headed over to the iconic The Carolina Hotel for portraits.

Spring had arrived in full force, and the camellias were in full bloom around the property. The gardens and classic architecture of the hotel provided the perfect backdrop for romantic wedding portraits. There’s something about Pinehurst in the spring that feels especially magical, and Steve and Nicole’s portraits captured that perfectly.

These quiet moments right after the ceremony are always some of my favorites — when the couple finally has a chance to slow down and soak in the fact that they are officially married.

Reception in the Donald Ross Room at Pinehurst Resort

The celebration continued back at Pinehurst Resort with the reception held in the beautiful Donald Ross Room overlooking the legendary Pinehurst No. 2.

The evening was filled with heartfelt moments, laughter, incredible food, and a packed dance floor from start to finish. Guests celebrated Steve and Nicole with so much energy and joy that the dancing lasted all the way until the very last song.

It was the kind of wedding reception where no one wanted the night to end — a true celebration of two wonderful people beginning their life together.

Steve and Nicole’s wedding day was the perfect way to begin the season. Beautiful spring blooms, iconic Pinehurst locations, and a group of family and friends who knew how to celebrate made it a day I won’t soon forget.

It was truly an honor to capture these memories and document such an incredible wedding day.
