     There’s something extra special about a gift that turns into a memory you’ll cherish forever—and that’s exactly how Brandon and Maddi’s engagement session began.  Back in November, Brandon reached out with the sweetest idea: he wanted to surprise his fiancée with an engagement session as a Christmas gift. Not just any gift, but an experience they could share together. We planned to wait until spring, and before we knew it, the season arrived in full bloom—just in time for their session.

We met on a perfect Sunday in Southern Pines. The kind of day you wish you could bottle up—sunshine filtering through the trees, a soft breeze, and that unmistakable feeling that spring has officially arrived.  We started in downtown Southern Pines, wandering through its charming streets and soaking in all the character it has to offer. It didn’t take long to see just how natural Brandon and Maddi are together. From the way they laughed effortlessly to the quiet, in-between moments they shared, it was clear their connection is something truly special.

They made my job easy—in the best way. Every moment felt genuine, joyful, and completely them.

We wrapped up the evening at Weymouth Center, where they’ll be saying “I do” this May. There’s something incredibly meaningful about photographing a couple in a place that already holds so much of their future. Surrounded by towering trees and timeless Southern charm, you could almost picture their wedding day unfolding.  Southern Pines isn’t just a backdrop for Brandon and Maddi—it’s becoming home. After they tie the knot, they plan to start this next chapter of their lives right here, in the place that already means so much to them.
