A Southern Dream of a Wedding Day / NC Wedding Photographer
The best part of being a wedding photographer is not that I get to eat lots of cake (although that is a bonus). The best part is the people...meeting people, building relationships, and loving the people you get to work with. This is so true. I have known the owners of this amazing wedding venue for a few years. They are the sweetest group of people with the kindest hearts. They love to serve their couples which is apparent from every wedding I have photographed there. So when The venue owner, Teresa, reached out and told me her son was getting married, I jumped at the opportunity to photograph this very special occasion. And I'm so glad I did.
It was such an amazing day. The Southern Dream was all dressed up with more florals than I have ever seen in my life. It was a beautiful black tie affair...everyone was in black except the stunning bride, Kyra, who looked absolutely stunning in her gown. When I arrived, everyone was hard at work. Kyra seemed so calm (at least she appeared that way) as she got ready. She slipped into the most beautiful gown and shared a moment with her mom, bridesmaids, father, and then her Schuyler. They read tender vows privately. I couldn't help but get teary-eyed. I saw Kyra's father watch from a distance, beaming with pride.
The ceremony had everything...cute ring security and one of Schuyler's men adding extra flowers to the floor. When Kyra entered and Schuyler looked at his beautiful bride, it was hard to keep the tears back. What an amazing ceremony...and then onto the reception for more sweet moments. Kyra thanked her family and was overcome by emotion when she mentioned her grandmother. She wore a charm bracelet around her flowers. One picture was the first picture she had ever taken with her grandmother and right beside it was the last picture. One of her grandmother holding her and the other of her kissing her grandmother. I get a little weepy just thinking about their bond and how important her grandmother was and still is to Kyra.
The reception ended with sparklers and fireworks...YES! FIREWORKS!!! But I have to say the biggest surprise of the evening was when Schuyler reached for a garter and took out a row of ultrasound pictures. The look on the mothers' faces...Priceless! Well here's to a wonderful life full of joy and excitement. Congratulations, Schuyler and Kyra. Just remember that the best is yet to come!
