STAYING AT HOME WITH MY KIDDOS

Trying to thrive during the Pandemic of 2020
I'm trying to look through the craziness to see that there is actually a positive to all of this. Yes! It is sometimes hard to see, when faced with physical distancing, homeschooling children, running low on toilet paper...but beyond that, I am still seeing God work. I pray regularly for patience with my children. I love them dearly, but I have to say they can be quite persistent...often trying my patience. Well with all of this "stay-at-home" I am getting plenty of practice in learning how to be patient with my girls...and I think they are learning how to work through their 24-7 relationship with each other.
Up until today, I looked at the homeschooling as a temporary thing. But now it looks like it is here to stay until the end of the school year...which I cannot escape and need to learn how to manage this along with a full time job and other responsibilities. Much prayer is needed. I remember a few years back, wishing I could stay at home with my kids...wow! I really did wish that. And now I am given the opportunity to do this very thing for a time. And they will only be little for a time. Heck, my almost 11 year old is almost as tall as me and her feet are a size bigger than mine.
So here I am, with a wonderful opportunity to love and teach my children...To spend time with them and impact their character and their hearts. So in light of this wonderful opportunity, I am showing a small snip of our month at home. I spared you the hair pulling....LOL! I have included a photo session that my children wanted to do since they were going to miss being with their grandparents over Easter. I look back over this time so far and saw that we DID have fun and hopefully DID make some memories. I am hopeful for what May brings...more time at home to do it better. To practice my patience and ask for grace when I fall short (daily).

The messiest day of the month...drop cloth down and ready. We decorated Easter eggs and did some paint-pouring. It was lots of fun. Fender got into the dye, of course, but his beard didn't stay blue for long.

Last year, my family started a garden. My parents helped put it together. We missed having them here but wanted to continue in the tradition. I think our squirrels are taking some of our plants.

Easter Sunday!
After our church service, my girls wanted to hunt for eggs...they found most of them...the dogs got to a couple. Then we had our annual egg-cracking contest. We usually do this with at least 30 people, but it was fun all the same. Lewis won!
