DC Trip with my Family

DC visit to see the cherry blossoms

So last weekend my family and I traveled into DC for a quick family vacation. When I was in the Army, I was stationed in DC. It was an amazing experience. One of my favorite things about DC is the cherry blossoms. The blooms do not last long, but when they bloom, it is certainly a beautiful site. I’ve always wanted to take my girls to see the cherry blossoms and, when I had a cancelation, we decided to take this opportunity to go...it just so happened it was the week they were in full bloom.

My girls were so excited. Addy planned to visit the White House to see the President (I wonder what she would say to him🤦‍♀️) and she wanted to go to the pencil monument. I think her favorite part was trying to catch some pigeons:)...see below.

Izzy was excited to see the Lincoln Memorial and go to the mall (she thought it was a shopping mall...she was in for quite a surprise🤣).

The day was perfect. We went to the Washington Monument, then to the Museum of Natural History, the Capital, the Air and Space Museum, and then all the way to the Lincoln Memorial. We walked over 18,000 steps (thank you, Apple Watch for tracking this), which is about 8-9 miles. My girls only complained for the last 7 of those miles...LOL!
