Over 60 years of marriage = a lifetime of love

I cannot keep the tears from falling.  I had met these two love birds in 2017 for a simple photo shoot. I was hired by their granddaughter, Becky, to take some family pictures.  They were not big into pictures, but they realized the importance of capturing some moments.
 I remember laughing almost the entire session.  Not because I was being a joyful person, but because this family exhibited so much joy in the midst of extremely difficult times.  Now I love to post about successful marriages...it makes me grin from ear to ear and my heart sing.  They were so inspiring and I hope, with every fiber of my being, to have the success that these two shared.  

They have children and grandchildren.  I remember her telling me early on about his multiple bouts of cancer and how this most recent diagnosis, left him with the realization that he had enough.  It was terminal.  She then shared how when they were newly married and all the other business men would work all week and spend the weekends playing golf, he chose to come home, swoop up his loving kids, and take them off on some adventure.    

He passed last Wednesday, before they were able to celebrate 62 years of marriage.  But I think about 61 years and am in awe.  This is truly amazing.  Like a fine wine or a precious jewel, they stood the test of time.  I am forever grateful for the short time I spent with them and the hope they gave me for my marriage.
